Prayers to St. Joseph - Complete Collection
St. Joseph, the humble carpenter of Nazareth, holds a unique and exalted place in the Catholic faith. As the foster father of Jesus and the chaste spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, he was entrusted by God with the sacred duty of protecting and providing for the Holy Family. His unwavering faith, quiet strength, and complete obedience to God's will make him one of the most powerful intercessors in heaven.
Throughout the centuries, countless faithful have turned to St. Joseph in their times of need—and have experienced his powerful intercession. Pope Pius IX declared him Patron of the Universal Church in 1870, and Pope Francis has called him a "beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father."

The Life of St. Joseph
Though the Gospels record no words spoken by St. Joseph, his actions speak volumes. A descendant of King David, Joseph was a righteous man living in Nazareth when he was betrothed to Mary. When he discovered she was with child, his initial plan to divorce her quietly was interrupted by an angel who revealed God's plan for salvation.
From that moment, Joseph's life was one of complete trust and obedience. He protected Mary and the infant Jesus, fleeing to Egypt to escape Herod's massacre. He raised Jesus as his own son, teaching him the carpenter's trade and the Jewish faith. Though we do not know the circumstances of his death, tradition holds that he died in the presence of Jesus and Mary—the holiest death imaginable.
